Female Dog, Mastiff

Mastiff / Terrier / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

The dogs Arcadia Animal Rescue saves are mainly located in southern states, such as NC, SC, TN and TX. We can transport to most states, through partner networks. Virtual meet n greets can be arranged for all non-local adopters.Keara is a gorgeous 3-4 y/o, 80 lb. Mastiff Boerboel or Black Mouth Cur mix that was surrendered when her family could no longer keep her. Well, what a gem of a “gentle giant” she has turned out to be! She lived previously with small children and has done well with other dogs that are smaller than her and playful/submissive in temperament. She seems to be good with indoor cats that are low key and not fazed by dogs (outside cats, however, she seems to want to chase). She is crate trained and housebroken. Like many large breeds, she has a little bit of a stubborn streak in her and will test the boundaries! So she needs pet parents with strong leadership skills, who will make sure she doesn’t think she’s the pack leader of the home! Keara will do best in a home with a nice big yard where she can run and chase balls! Please note that due to her size, she can (and has) easily scaled a 4 foot fence. Overall, if you are a large breed dog lover, this girl is an excellent addition to any family! Keara is up-to-date on all vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and just waiting for a forever family that will love and value her the way she deserves to be. If you can open your heart and home for this gorgeous sweetheart, contact Aly on 732 604 0625 (please be sure to include a phone number where you can be reached!)To apply to adopt, click on https://www.arcadiarescue.org/application. If the pet you applied for is no longer available, www.arcadiarescue.org/adopt to see all of our available pets. Note: Some pups are in boarding facilities in order to save their lives. This is far from ideal, they really need to be in loving homes. Due to record number owner surrenders this year, we have zero foster homes available. Fostering helps save another pup from euthanasia in an overcrowded kill shelter needing to free up a kennel. If you can foster, go to https://www.arcadiarescue.org/foster and fill out a foster application. Thank you!
