Description:
The dogs Arcadia Animal Rescue saves are mainly located in southern states, such as NC, SC, TN and TX. We can transport to most states, through partner networks. Virtual meet n greets can be arranged for all non-local adopters.Lucy & Vida are two very good natured yellow Labs that our rescue found stranded underneath a house in rural NC. We took them in and had to put them at a boarding facility as a temporary solution - but they are still there months later! The girls were living in deplorable conditions in this dilapidated structure underneath a house, completely wired in. They need to be in warm loving homes so they can live a normal life in a home with a family. Lucy and Vida are about 2 yrs old and are incredibly sweet. Their freedom photos say it all! They have been happy and friendly with people and seem to be good with children (an 8 yr old boy has interacted with them at boarding). They have had to learn general "house manners" after being underneath a house and reportedly are doing well when tested in the home environment. They have been rehabbing at a pet resort and are ready to find their forever home. Both girls are back to being fit and healthy, and have learned to be social with other dogs in group play situations and love to run and play. They have become so loved and involved with the caretakers at the facility they spend time in the caretakers quarters and are both house broken. We would love for these gorgeous girls to stay together, however, they can be adopted out separately too. The girls are good with kids but they are very energetic and may knock younger kids down by accident, so a home with kids probably older than 9/10 yrs old probably best. Lucy and Vida have been fully vetted and spayed. They are ready to go to their forever home ASAP! Note, in the picture of them running, Lucy is on the right and Vida is the one with different colored eyes. If you are interested in these sweet girls, please contact Julie Powers on 919 624 0059 or [email protected] To apply to adopt, click on https://www.arcadiarescue.org/application. If the pet you applied for is no longer available, www.arcadiarescue.org/adopt to see all of our available pets. Note: Some pups are in boarding facilities in order to save their lives. This is far from ideal, they really need to be in loving homes. Due to record number owner surrenders this year, we have zero foster homes available. Fostering helps save another pup from euthanasia in an overcrowded kill shelter needing to free up a kennel. If you can foster, go to https://www.arcadiarescue.org/foster and fill out a foster application. Thank you!
