Status: Last posted as 'available' on 09/06/24

Male Dog, German Shepherd Dog

German Shepherd Dog (Medium Coat)

Description:

The dogs Arcadia Animal Rescue saves are mainly located in southern states, such as NC, SC, TN and TX. We can transport to most states, through partner networks. Virtual meet n greets can be arranged for all non-local adopters. —- Urgent Foster/Adopter Needed ASAP! —- Max is a beautiful 2.5 y/o, 75 lb. regal-looking boy who found himself slated for euthanasia in an overcrowded high kill shelter in Dallas, TX through no fault of his own. We were able to save him in the nick of time and he spent months in boarding while waiting for transport to the Northeast. Now he’s in very temp foster with a male and his 3 kids who are a mix of young kids and two on the special needs spectrum. He is *wonderful* with them but doesn’t like the foster dad’s girlfriend (who does not live there but only comes over a few nights a week) and we don’t know why as he did not exhibit any issues with any males or females at the shelter, boarding facility, or on transport. Sadly, now he has to leave urgently. :,-( He is great with other dogs his size as you can see from the video (we don’t know how he is with small dogs or cats). He is housebroken and has been learning how to spend time in the crate when no one is home. Experienced GSD or working breed owners. *** If you can open your heart and home to help this poor boy, please text/call Aly at 732-604-0625 ASAP! *** Thank you for caring about a pet in urgent need! To adopt, go to https://www.arcadiarescue.org/application To foster, go to https://www.arcadiarescue.org/foster To apply to adopt, click on https://www.arcadiarescue.org/application. If the pet you applied for is no longer available, www.arcadiarescue.org/adopt to see all of our available pets. Note: Some pups are in boarding facilities in order to save their lives. This is far from ideal, they really need to be in loving homes. Due to record number owner surrenders this year, we have zero foster homes available. Fostering helps save another pup from euthanasia in an overcrowded kill shelter needing to free up a kennel. If you can foster, go to https://www.arcadiarescue.org/foster and fill out a foster application. Thank you!
