Male Dog, German Shepherd Dog

German Shepherd Dog (Short Coat)

Description:

This boy is called Kowboy Kirby and he is a one-year-old 65 lb black and tan German Shepherd who doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body about anything or anyone. He is clueless as to why he should be, so he isn't. Kowboy Kirby is just kind of a goofball that is intelligent and needs to continue to have someone surround him with good guidance and boundaries and the ability to polish him into a fabulous dog. Training is necessary for any German Shepherd and especially for this young boy who hasn't been trained starting early in puppyhood. Only in the past 2 months has he had guidance and a schedule with consistency. He used to not tolerate a wire crate but now he's fine in a plastic crate and he tolerates that. It will be necessary for him not to be left loose in the house when people are gone. He'll get into too much mischief as most dogs will do. Kirby is really a special boy to be as nice and sweet as he is considering the fact that he was found in the middle of a highway during a rainstorm back in July. It was determined that he actually had been given away by someone at a Walmart. These animals should never be handed around like this, but it seems like it's happening more and more. Kirby is housebroken and he walks really nicely on a leash if you're consistent doing it everyday. This is a diamond in the rough kind of guy and we are hoping that you will see the diamond and take him home.
