Description:
Darling Dougie!! Meet Doug, the most charming and optimistic fellow ever! We do not understand why Doug does not get any attention because he is such a GREAT DOG! He has been in foster since January! Doug is super athletic and would love to have a running or hiking partner to share his adventures with. He does great on car rides and walks well on the leash. Doug spent several months at the shelter and even recovered from an upper respiratory infection early into his stay before being placed on last call, only due to length of stay and lack of space. Volunteers deemed him a must-save, and we still agree. We will not give up on precious Dougie. When Doug met his foster siblings, he quickly assessed with whom and how rough he could play. He is playful, but also respectfully submissive. He took cues from our dogs perfectly and behaved exactly as a guest dog should. He is always eager to meet new people and dogs. He shares a room with a cat, so he's fine with dog-friendly kitties, as well. Doug is incredibly smart! He watched our pack use the dog door one time and mastered it instantly. Some of our guest dogs never figure out the dog door, lol. He is potty trained and crate trained. He knows a few basic commands and will follow you anywhere if you have a treat in your hand. He loves to jump and climb and we think with the right training and focus he would make an incredible agility dog. Please come meet Dougie!! He will melt your heart pretty quickly when he gazes up at you with those soulful eyes. Doug's luck changed when he met us because we are determined to find him a home. He has been with us for so long that he probably thinks we're it, but I keep promising him that life will soon be filled with so much more love and attention and squishy, squeaky, chewy toys than he ever dreamed of. Please email us at [email protected] to set up a meet and greet with Doug. We perform background checks and home visits for all adoptions. Doug's adoption fee is $150.
