Female Dog, Great Pyrenees

Great Pyrenees (Long Coat)

Description:

Meet Angel! Born around June 2023, she weighs around 55 pounds. She may grow a little more, but she is definitely in the “Pocket Pyr” category, and is short and stocky for her weight. Her beautiful coat length is long thick, so she has lots of fluff for snuggling with people and bouncing off her fur buddies when they run and play. Angel is timid and wary of strangers. She needs to be introduced slowly and in a calm manner. For this reason, she may not be the best with kids. Once she gets to know you, sweet Angel is very loveable and will sit in your lap or lay next to you for belly rubs and attention. Before we met her, Angel had a fractured femur that healed incorrectly, but she still runs and plays with the best of them. Still in her puppy stage, her favorite activity is playing outside with other dogs. She will most likely continue to love to play as she becomes a young adult. Angel happily lives in her foster home with 5 other dogs. She gets along well with her furry foster brothers and sisters, and in general does well with new dogs when they are introduced properly. She would do best if her forever home also has a backyard and other dogs to keep her occupied and happy. She loves going outside for walks and does well on a leash. Sometimes she pulls when strangers approach. She is house trained and crate trained, but becomes restless in the crate when crated for extended periods of time. She does great riding in the car. She just needs a little help getting in and out because she struggles with jumping. She loves the sound of her own voice and likes to bark if she thinks there are strangers around the home. She has no food aggression issues. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
