Male Dog, Great Pyrenees

Great Pyrenees (Long Coat)

Description:

Meet Virgil! He is a young pup with an old soul. Born around November 2023, he sports a long, fluffy coat and a small frame. We expect he will weigh up to 70 pounds as an adult. He was under-weight when we rescued him from a local shelter, and he’s enjoying the extra groceries he’s getting to thicken him up. Virgil is the absolute sweetest love bug! He is very affectionate and loves to be scratched and pet and lean against his people. He has an easy-going temperament and medium energy. He is still in his playful puppy stage and figuring out his growing limbs, so he is still cutely clumsy. He is a goofy boy - not too wild and crazy, but gets overexcited sometimes. He is learning not to jump up on people. He plays well with other dogs and reads their body language well. He loves them all – big and small, male and female. He must have a large, playful doggy companion in his forever home. If you don’t already have a suitable buddy for him, adopt one from us! He is also a very good boy with cats. Virgil is full house trained. He still wakes up occasionally at night to go outside to potty. As he gets used to indoor life and being a house dog, he will likely begin sleeping through the night. He rides very well in a car. He is leash trained, crate trained, and likes toys. He enjoys baths! Sweet Virgil will be an amazing companion for a loving family. OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION: 1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor. 2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy. 3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly. 4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors. https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI0 SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
