Keep calm and woof on.

Female Dog, Labrador Retriever
Labrador Retriever / Mixed (Short Coat)
Description:
Godiva is one of the easiest dogs Iâve ever fostered! She is a perfect running companion, medium energy, and would be just as happy doing an activity or being a couch potato. We both work out of the house, and after our long walk in the AM, she just snoozes the day away until we get back (I have a ring cam and check on her throughout the day so we know she's very chill when we're away). She is also super smart and has quickly learned leash/door manners and basic obedience. She knows sit, stay, lay down, look at me, let's go (for turn around), and back off (for leave the cat alone). She also has learned to automatically wait for a release word before exiting the front door of our apartment or jumping out of the car (we use `break`). We're working on her being more relaxed around our old kitty, but it has only been a little over a week, and she's doing great so far. She is able to greet/sniff our kitty briefly and back off and also able to sit still and refrain from following the kitty around the apartment. She is a great pup for a first time dog owner (as long as you don't have any other dogs in the household) because she's fairly easy-going and chill. She is, however, scared of dogs and tall/loud people, which we're working on with her. She would be better suited for an only dog home at the moment, though she is making improvements and could overcome her fear of dogs in the future as she settles in and gets more training. She's not destructive and has never shown interest in anything other than the toys we give her. She's a sweet and balanced pup with lots of calm energy while still being ready to play when you are. We're working on some fancy obedience with her and she gets very excited to learn stuff, loves working for treats, and just doing activities with her people. At the end of the day, she's also an excellent cuddler and will fall asleep in your arms like the little adorable angel she is. If you're looking for a gem of a dog to be your next companion, Godiva could very well be the pup you're looking for! Reach out to me (her foster) and set up a meet and greet!
