Description:
Heartworm Prevention is given on the 9th of each month Dorothy is a sweet, playful bundle of energy. She loves to run, chew sticks, and play with toys and other dogs. In the evening, when she's starting to quiet down, I put her in my lap and she goes to sleep. She is an enthusiastic eater who will "help" the other dogs finish their meals. She likes to sit and nap in the sun, either outside on the porch or inside in front of a window. House training is progressing but not perfect yet. Her potty habits are pretty regular, so it's easy to know when she needs to go out. Dorothy sleeps in her crate. We tell her, "Time to go to bed; get in your crate," and with a little direction (and a treat), she gets right in and settles down. She usually goes right to sleep because she's been so active all day. Right now, she need to potty at about 4 a.m. We take her out, she potties right away, and then she's ready to get back in her crate and go back to sleep. She will also get in her crate or another dogs' crate at naptime. When we leave the house, we confine her to a small room with a bed, pee pad, toys, and water. She's good about using the pee pad, but usually spills the water. She is great with other dogs and people, and good with cats. She hasn't been exposed to children, but I don't anticipate any problems since she is so small and gentle.
