Email: [email protected] Primary Website: www.DDRTX.org Meet Frosty Coal, named for his white frosty hair and his deep dark silver merle coloring. Frosty is approximately 3 years old and weighs 15lbs. He has a very quiet and calm attitude. He is calm and happy in his kennel all night long, or during times you may need to run an errand. Instead, Frosty sometimes will choose to go into his crate to take naps. He is kind, gentle, and potty trained. Frosty gets along with everyone in the house but may be very slow to warm up and trust dogs or people in the home. As he begins to feel at home he will show you how he loves to eat, and may find a favorite toy to take in his kennel to play quietly with. Frosty has been in Rescue for a very short time, only about a week and a half and the foster family can tell he has more personality than he shows. He rides calmly in the car and was well behaved at the vets. However did not care for his toenail trim. He is still adjusting to fitting in with everyone. He’s very gentle, but he’s very reserved. Just recently he has become very comfortable playing with the younger foster sibling. It’s beginning to look like Frosty could really open up and be a lot of fun, but he will need to move slowly. He’s learning to enjoy lap time with both males and females in the house. And likes the 11 year old in the house. He came to us as a stray, and was in the home of good Samaritan’s who fell in love with him, but had no way of keeping him. Frosty is like a Christmas package waiting to be opened. He needs adopters who can’t wait to discover how much fun he can be. Love dachshunds and not ready to adopt or circumstances won't permit having a dog? How about being a sponsor or making a donation.
