Please fill out an application and let’s get you all matched up with a loving new “furever’ companion and friend. You’ll find the application on the “Available Dogs” page. NOTE: Adoptions to Central/South Texas residents only Please see FAQs for current adoption fees. DDRTX only adopts in Central/South Texas. Email: [email protected] Primary Website: www.DDRTX.org Hello all! My name is Josie Mae! Fortunately, I was rescued by Diamond Dachshund, though no one really knows my back story. They tell me I'm about 3 years old and I weigh about 11 pounds. I'm in good health except I have those nasty little heartworms. My foster mom thinks I'm super smart- I knew my new name within 2 days. Here's a few things about me that you'll love! I'm house trained, I come immediately when you call me, I'm obedient, I can sleep in the big bed or beside you on the floor, I'm playful with you or with other pups (but I'm having to take it easy right since I have HW). Overall, I'm just really good pup. I like being outdoors so a yard would be nice. I'm currently going through heartworm treatment but I'm available for adoption under a Heartworm Contract. I just need to be in a place where I can rest up till the treatment is over. If you think we would make a good match, let's plan to meet up! If you don't already have an approved application, get yours in today. With my scruffy good looks, there's probably going to be a lot of people wanting to meet me! Love dachshunds and not ready to adopt or circumstances won't permit having a dog? How about being a sponsor or making a donation. Every one of our dachshunds receives excellent medical care along with day to day food, love and housing. Being non-profit, we rely on generous individuals like yourselves to help save these fur babies. You can do this specifically for one dog with the sponsor button on their webpage or a general donation on our “How To Help” page. Easy and quick through Pay Pal or your debit/credit card. You generosity is sincerely appreciated by all and is tax deductable. Need other ideas? You'll find tons of them on the How to Help tab. All contributions are tax deductable.
