Female Dog, American Pit Bull Terrier
American Pit Bull Terrier
Description:
Little Maya was found by animal control officers dumped in a box on a trail in SE DC with her brother Manny. These poor pups had a horrible start to life. Maya was emaciated and stained with urine. Since arriving in her foster home, Maya has continued to open up and show us how much love she has to give. She’s very dog friendly and living with 4 other dogs. She absolutely adores her foster mama and although she’s slow to warm up to new people, with treats and time she opens up. We have no doubt that she will continue to learn to trust humans, despite her past. Here are some more Maya highlights: - petite at about 33 lbs - very playful and loves to rough and tumble with doggy pals - would do best in a townhome or home with a yard - would do best with older or no kiddos, just as she learns to contain her excitement - housetrained with frequent potty breaks, crating, or supervision - sleeps soundly in her crate through the night - super snuggly Maya started as a fearful girl but has blossomed into quite the firecracker. Her foster fam adores her but it’s time for her to fly the coop! Apply to adopt Maya today! Our data base requires us to give an animal a breed. The breed given to the dog is our best estimate, and should not be used to predict future behavior.
