Female Dog, Doberman Pinscher

Doberman Pinscher / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please download and complete an Adoption Questionnaire from our website and email Barbara at [email protected] You can learn about the adoption process and find a Word, PDF and ONLINE version of the questionnaire by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/. Dog's Name: Lucy Estimated Breed : Doberman Pinscher/Lab/ Approximate Age: 4.5 years Approximate Weight: 75 lbs Currently Living at: Foster Adoption Fee: $375 DOG'S DESCRIPTION Lucy is a beautiful, sweet and gentle lady who is waiting to find a loving forever home. She is smart, and already knows some commands. She is gentle, especially when taking treats. And she is playful, and LOVES to go for a ride in the car and play fetch. Lucy is good with kids, but due to her large size would do better with kids over the age of 5. Lucy is very active, and will need a yard to run around. She loves to chase squirrels and go on long hikes with her foster mom. Lucy gets along with SOME dogs, but not with ALL dogs. She’d thrive as an only dog, or living with an older quieter dog. If another dog is in the home, a meet and greet is required. Please consider opening your heart and home to this sweet girl. She adores people and can’t wait to meet her forever family! Lucy is HW positive and will receive treatment while she is with us. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery, rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dogs also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
