ARIES - 1-5 years old, 35 pounds, friendly, sits for treats, needs adult home, dog tolerant during play but no other animals in the home. ARIES is one you won't just pass by. This bulldog is super cute with her squishy face and short squatty body. She is white with one big brown spot on her back like someone said, let's throw some color here! She is playful and loves treats. She follows you around. Aries sat for treats and even lifted her paw without me asking. Someone had her. Someone taught her things. Someone cared about her even giving her a microchip (which is how we know her name!) She may not be house trained as, after being adopted and now brought back, we are told she had several accidents in the home. Granted, she was at that new home for less than a week and sometimes it takes a dog a bit more to get used to a new home and routine. That being said, if she is not truly house trained, she will need a new family willing to be patient and help her figure it out as she navigates her way in another new home and routine. She enjoys going for car rides and seems to be crate trained. She may guard some favorite toys or bones so please be prepared to manage this. Staff can give advice on handling this behavior. When Aries was found, we are told she snapped at the child in the home. She was adopted and now returned for seemingly similar instances. We don't know circumstances but we do know bulldogs are called bullies for a reason. Please do your own research on this breed before considering adoption to make sure the breed is a good fit for your family. Also, please know supervision will be important when it comes to children and strangers walking into your home. Aries has joined our shelter playgroup. Her playmates are vetted, chosen carefully, and they are supervised at all times. She runs around chasing and being chased. She seems very tolerant of other dogs while in the yard together. Aries is currently in a back kennel so if you don't see her, please just ask.
