Male Dog, Beagle

Beagle / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Meet Pinto! Pinto and his littermates were surrendered by their owner whose dog had an 'accidental' litter. Their mom was a medium size Beagle mix dog. We can't be sure who dad was but we think he may have had some pit bull in him. Pinto is a sweet, snuggly pup who’s equal parts cuddle bug and confident playmate. With humans, he’s happiest curled up in what we affectionately call the “neck crevice” — if you’ve got a lap or a cozy spot, he’ll find his way there. With other dogs, he’s a playful, spirited wrestler who reads the room well: he’ll play hard, but he’s quick to back off when his playmate has had enough. He’s met lots of dogs (9 so far!) and has gotten along great with all of them. Pinto LOVES food — like, really loves it — and eats fast, so a slow feeder might be a good idea. He even likes eating things that aren't food - like wood - so a certain level of vigilance is required. He’s also got a thing for strings of all kinds: shoelaces, hoodie drawstrings, yarn — you name it. Classic puppy energy. He’s still working on signaling when he needs to go outside but has done really well with a consistent routine. As long as you take him out often, accidents are rare. Like any young pup, he’s still figuring out the world and sometimes gets a little shy with new things — but only for a moment. His confidence kicks in quickly, and he’s off exploring again. He’s also in his puppy-bite-everything phase (beards, hair, toes etc.), but he’s easily redirected to a chew toy and learning fast. Crates aren’t his favorite place (he’d much rather be on your lap), but he’s making progress and learning that they’re not so bad after all. His little beagle voice is starting to come in, but for now, it mostly comes out in the form of puppy whines. Pinto would make the perfect companion for a human, a dog, or both! If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate pup who’s up for adventures and down for snuggles, Pinto’s your guy." All of the pups have received their first puppy vaccinations and are dewormed and chipped. They will be neutered or spayed between 8-12 months of age at our cost. Their adoption fee is $525. Applications can be sent to savinggreatanimals.org. All puppy meet and greets take place in the foster home. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
