Hi! My name is Max. I’m a 4-year old, potty trained, 12 pound, male chihuahua and I’m still getting used to all of the new things happening in my life: meeting new people, exploring new houses, making new dog friends, healing from my new neuter… and that can be overwhelming at times. But don’t get me wrong, once I warm up and I’m no longer afraid I’m totally down to adventure. With my previous owners I spent 12+ hours in my kennel so I’ll do it but I really don’t like it. I will sleep in there if I have to, but I tend to put up quite a protest before settling down. I would REALLY prefer sleeping with my new person. I have never ruined anything when left uncrated during the day or overnight, so you can trust me- I promise! I can also go with you! I ride really well in the car. Even better when I snag my foster brother’s doggie booster and can look out the windows!Living with another dog would be great- I’ve been friendly with all dogs I’ve met so far, from 10 to 65 pounds, but I’d be ok as the center of attention too. My person or people can do anything to me but since I’m scared of fast, unexpected movements near me, a child-free, calm home is required to help me be the best boy I can be! I have not been around cats but don’t show much interest in squirrels on walks so I would probably be ok with a proper introduction. Once I’m used to a new place I’m pretty quiet unless someone knocks on the door or my foster brother gets me riled up, but that’s pretty rare. Oooh! I want to meet you! I’m cute, I know my name, I think I’ll eventually learn to sit, even though I don’t see the point because I’m only 5” off the ground. And I’ll also do just about anything for a hot dog!
