Male Dog, Shepherd

Shepherd / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

*** REQUIRES ANOTHER DOG IN THE HOME *** NAME: RUSTY GRISWOLD LITTER: He is the last of "The Griswolds" litter (Lampoon's Vacation/ Holiday) AGE/GENDER: Born 5/31/2022), Male BREED: Shepherd Pit mix TEMPERAMENT: Playful, sweet, goofy WEIGHT: 60ish pounds HOUSE TRAINING: YES! He's good with a consistent schedule. CRATE TRAINING: Good! He eats and sleeps in his crate. OTHER DOGS: Good! He loves dogs. He can be a little nervous of dogs even though he loves them. He loves to play. So a bossy dog wouldn't be a great fit for him. CATS: Good. He does respond to corrections very well. CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older ADOPTION DONATION: $600.00 HEALTH: Rusty Griswold is healthy! He is altered, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. HISTORY: Rusty's mother was saved from a life on the chain. But sadly after getting her freedom, her puppies succumbed to parvo. Rusty is a parvo survivor. Because of the quarantine, he missed out on some crucial socialization periods and can be a little shy with people. NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Rusty is a sweet guy who is really excited to find a home of his own. He's been with us for a long time, simply because there are too many dogs out there looking for homes this year. But he knows his time is coming soon. During his time with us, Rusty has been working hard to master obedience. He walks well on a leash and can sit and down on command- he is just waiting to see what you will teach him too. Rusty loves other dogs and plays well and will spend hours in the yard entertaining himself. His is a little shy with people though he will warm up pretty quickly, he just needs some patience to show you his best qualities. Rusty would do best with an owner that's worked to build confidence in large dogs and perhaps has a mentor dog to befriend and play with. Rusty is available for adoption, but he is also happy to find a great foster family that will love him like your own until his forever family comes along. Foster to adopt is also an option where you can date him and see if he's a good fit for your family. Rusty is goofy with a heart of gold, just like a Griswold should be! All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar. Each dog also receives a "Tour Gear Bag" full of brochures, coupons, and supplies for your new pup! ************************ ABOUT MOTLEY ZOO: Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue! We are a rock and roll themed, volunteer-powered, foster-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. WE ARE FOSTER BASED- which means: There is nowhere for you to go to see animals today. Animals are VIEWED BY APPT ONLY. No casual meetings, unless at one of our events. Animals receive one-on-one, 24/7 care in a private, volunteer foster home, which is individualized for their needs Through their foster placement, we get to know the animals well, which translates to accurate and customized matching service for you! As a private, volunteer home is involved we cannot accommodate same-day adoption meetings or surrenders. Approved applicants can meet and adopt at an event, but otherwise, an application is still required and must be approved before an animal can go home. TO ADOPT, PLEASE: Email [email protected] and request an adoption application. The auto-responder (triggered when you email), also has a link. Applications are reviewed by volunteers and take at least 3-5 business days to complete once submitted. Please allow additional time if the application is not completed in its entirety and or there are further questions or clarifications needed to approve you. Missing information will delay your application and may cause you to miss out on the animal you seek. If so, we will work to match you with the next animal that suits your needs. Applicants are always told whether you are approved or not. Please do not jump to conclusions and make assumptions. Inquire if you feel you have not heard from us in a timely manner. Our goal is to find the right match for the animal in question, first- and therefore, to satisfy you by doing that, next. These decisions about compatibility are NOT personal- they are based 100% on the animal's needs. If an animal is deemed "not a good fit", this is not a rejection. Rather, you simply may not be a match for that animal- but when appropriate, we will suggest a different one that suits your needs and desires better. The animals are placed based on "best match" in the "timeliest manner"- not necessarily first come, first served. If two applications are equally appropriate, the one that came in first will be considered first. If an animal is online, it is available- however, this can change from the time you inquire for an application and submit it. There are many reasons animals may be removed from our listings, including: the animal has been matched with another applicant ahead of you in the process; the animal has been matched with you and you have not received the notice yet; the animal has become sick or has a new issue that needs to be assessed; an applicant changed their mind, etc. There are many more resources for you on our website to help prepare you for adoption. Please visit our website www.motleyzoo.org for information about fostering, volunteering, fostering-to-adopt and more. Thanks for considering adoption, which saves the lives of animals in need. We look forward to helping you find your best match in a furry friend. Rock on- The Motley Zoo Crew
