Female Dog, Shepherd

Shepherd / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

Animal Profile: Dora is an estimated 8-month-old 35 lb female shepherd mix who was taken in as a stray to the overcrowded San Bernardino city shelter and at risk for euthanasia due to lack of space. She was assessed to be friendly with people and dogs. We have pulled her to DGS foster care and will share more info as we get to know her. Foster Update: Dora is a sweetheart who aims to please her humans and is happy to take direction and guidance. She's an easy-going puppy who has taken all these changes in stride! She melts the heart of everyone she meets with her sweet nature. She's learning that outside is where to go potty, but is able to hold it overnight! She loves to snuggle and rub against you like a cat. Also, she's learning to be cat-friendly with a dog-savvy cat. She can be vocal with excitement on leash when seeing all the things (people, dogs, bikes) but is easy to redirect as she is very food-motivated. She is learning basic obedience including sit, leave it, down and recall. Dora will make a great edition to an active family who is wiling to continue her great start with training. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue. Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Dora was at risk at SBC shelter due to overcrowding, and arrived to DGS foster care via Wiggle Butts transport on 1/19/25. She is available for adoption in the greater Seattle area after assessment in foster care with The Grounded Dog.
