Description:
Animal Profile: Fluffy is an adorable little terrier mix (best guess) who weighs only 4.8 lbs and is estimated to be around 5 years old. She was found dumped in a field near San Bernardino, CA and was rescued by a good samaritan. She is now in foster care with us in Seattle. Foster Update: Meet Fluffy, better known as "Ms. Floof" by her foster family. She is settling in and doing great! She’s an absolute sweetheart and her tail never stops wagging. She’s comfortable around other dogs, including saying hello to large dogs, and new humans. A big plus is that she doesn't seem to bark, whereas some small dogs can be incessant barkers. Not Ms. Floof. Overall, she’s sweet, happy, easygoing, and loves to snuggle. She would be a great companion to take along to work, shopping, etc. She also does well when left home alone and is comfortable and happy hanging out in her crate when we leave. Thankfully, she doesn't have separation anxiety. When Ms. Floof feels anxious she will cower and breathe intensely. This can be triggered when she’s on the leash and first goes outside -- I think our cold weather is too intense for her tiny body and that temperature shock is triggering her. She’s also triggered on car rides and when faced with stairs. She won't even attempt them. We will continue trying to get her comfortable with them, but this could be a big consideration for her adoptive family. We know she is physically capable of navigating stairs as she can jump from the floor to our couch when we invite her up. Happily, Ms. Floof is potty trained and she's only had one accident in our house so far. She’s a champ at holding it while waiting to go outside. Ms. Floof requires some grooming maintenance. I brush her long coat every evening and she tolerates it well. Her face needs a trim about once a week to keep her hair out of her eyes. She tolerates baths, ear cleaning, and nail trimming well. We also wipe her face after each meal. She's not a big fan of face or paw touching though. Ms. Floof doesn’t need much and truly just wants to nap or lie next to a human all day. We are really enjoying her, plus she’s the cutest, tiniest thing with big black eyes, wiry fur and expressive, pointy ears.
