Female Dog, Labrador Retriever

Labrador Retriever / Shetland Sheepdog Sheltie / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

Animal Profile: Scarlet is an estimated 7-year-old 34 lb spayed female scruffy mixed breed who was adopted from the shelter several years ago and then confiscated from a property with animal neglect charges for breeding/hoarding. Despite her checkered past, Scarlet is social and friendly with all people and dogs -- neutral and seemingly well socialized. We will share more info as we get to know her in foster care. Foster Update: Scarlet is a really sweet gal who is thriving in her foster home! She's very affectionate, very craving of attention and pets, but she will also settle down on her blanket near her people! She has a strong very waggy tail and her whole butt wiggles when she's happy. She'll definitely try to climb into your lap or lay with you on the floor and climb up on your chest. She's 38 pounds and very sturdy. She wants to be part of a family and included. She'll keep you company if you're doing yardwork or hanging out. Scarlet sleeps all through the night. Once you're awake the waggy tail starts. She likes going for walks, but she seems to be extra interested in chasing the ball in a yard. Scarlet is happy and loving and would do very well in a family with a lot of action. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue. Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from Caddo Parish Animal Shelter in Shreveport Louisiana and she arrived in Seattle via Tail Lights Rescue Project on 3/23/25.
